Every child is a competent learner from birth.
Children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or key persons.
The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning. The philosophy underpinning Early Years Education is that learning should be carefully planned with an emphasis on activities that are relevant and motivating for each child. Practitioners support children’s learning through planned play and extending and developing children’s spontaneous play.
Areas of learning and development and early learning goals:
* Personal, social and emotional development
* Communication, language and literacy
* Problem solving, numeracy and reasoning
* Knowledge and understanding of the world
* Physical development
* Creative development
Early learning goals have been identified within the areas of learning and development. Children will be at different stages towards achieving these goals, depending on their age and stage of development.

FREE Créche places for ETB Students (formerly FAS and VEC) – Government Funded TEC Scheme
If you have applied for an ETB (previously FAS / VEC) training programme, you may require childcare. Under the government Training and Employment Childcare (TEC) scheme, you may qualify for a free childcare place for your child. Giraffe operates the TEC scheme in both of its 2 locations.
We can do it for you.
Little Peoples Academy will apply for the childcare place on your behalf. The allocation of places under the scheme is managed by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs, via the City and County Childcare Committees (CCC’s). The objective of the program is to support parents on certain eligible ETB (formerly FÁS and VEC) courses by providing sponsored childcare places.
In order to book a childcare place in any of our childcare centres, you will require a letter from your course coordinator confirming that you are eligible for a TEC place, outlining the start date and finish date of the course.
There may be a subsidy charged where child is less than 12 months old.
